01About This Special Issue

Electrical special machines are playing a vital role in energy efficiency application which is very important for future power conditions. Research on BLDC motor is going in every educational institute throughout the globe as it is replacing single phase induction motor with its excellent features. Switched reluctance motor is also replacing servo mechanism with its excellent features. Stepper motor, a special motor used in robotics and spacecrafts whose research is meager and needs more and more work expected. DFIG is also playing a vital role in wind generation. All these special machines are needed to be explained with FEM with novel tools for future developments with improvised characteristics such as reduction of Torque ripple. Many more special machines research work is going for Hydrogen vehicles and in Renewable energy operated systems. A special issue with Electrical Special machines is a must required special issue for Electrical engineers and Industries working for new developments in this field.

Aims and Scope:

1. Electrical Special machines analysis
2. FEM design for magnetic citcuit
3. Power quality improvement by reducing THD of Drive current
4. Reduction in Torque Ripple
5. Energy efficiency by improving Power Factor
6. Smooth operation
7. Improved efficiency by reducing losses
8. The growing trends of industry needs

Abstract: The utility of PM-BLDC machines is extending its tentacles in industrial arena. The key features of BLDC machines include high starting torque density and extending speed range, though the cogging torque is a threat for its performance. Various techniques have been devised to minimize cogging torque, out of which two approaches Bifurcation and Slot... Show More

Abstract: In this study, we proposed governing equations for voice coil type linear actuator for valve operation. We draw up governing equations which are composed by combination of electromagnetic theories and empirical knowledge, and deduct the values of major design factors by use of them. We suggested the governing equations to determine the values of de... Show More
